Three games into the new Premiership season, and Tottenham lead the table with maximum points. All three of London's big clubs, Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea have won all their games, whereas Liverpool and Man Utd have started unconvincingly. The Red Devils face the Gunners this weekend, which should give an interestin insight into early form. Man Utd & Arsenal Face Off In First Big Clash of Season
Arsenal have made an excellent start to the new season, against much expectation. Having been restrained on the transfer front, losing and losing Emmanuel Adebayor, much of the title talk focused on Man City joining Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd, in the Premiership elite club, but the Gunners have scored ten in two league wins, and are safely through to the Champions League group stages. It would be a perfect start for Arsene Wenger should his side get a result at Old Trafford, but they are likely to have to do so without Cesc Fabregas.
Man Utd bounced back from a shock defeat at Turfmoor to thrash Wigan with five second half goals, but Alex Ferguson is still facing a shortage of defensive players with injuries to Rio Ferdinand and goalkeeper, Edwin Van de Sar. Things are looking better at the other end of the field, with all main strikers finding the net against Wigan, including Michael Owen, seen as a risky signing. Many Premiership bettors wonder whether United can fill Ronaldo's boots, and after three games it is Chelsea who are hardening as favourites in the outright Premiership betting.
