Champions League odds for Matchday 1 of the 2009/10 competition is now available, following the draw for the Group stages, which was completed on August 27th. By far the most eye-catching pool is Group F, bringing together Barcelona and Inter Milan who meet on matchday 1. Inter Milan Get Early Test of European Ambitions
Inter Milan have dominated Serie A over recent seasons, but in sharp contrast they have failed to make an impact on the European stage, which has become the club's main objective under Jose Mourinho. That ambition will be tested on matchday one of the new competition when they meet holders Barcelona at the San Siro.
The tie is even more intriguing given the horse-trading between the clubs in the summer. Inter sold their talismanic striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, for £40million, with Samuel Eto'o moving in the other direction for a lesser fee. This game will give an indication of who got the better end of the bargain. The tall Swede has had his doubters, pointing to a lack of goals in critical games, while Eto'o has done it on the big stage, but at 28 has more miles on the clock.
